A county law enforcement agency is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Patrol Deputy. This position is responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and responding to a wide range of emergency and non-emergency situations. Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary: $58,221 + certificate pay

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to calls for service and enforce federal, state, and local laws
- Conduct routine patrols to deter and detect criminal activity
- Investigate incidents, gather evidence, and prepare reports
- Mediate disputes and provide assistance to the public
- Apprehend suspects and transport detainees
- Protect life and property in potentially hazardous situations
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies as needed
Qualifications
- Active Basic Peace Officer License (TCOLE) or higher
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Must reside in or relocate to Hemphill County within 90 days of hire
