About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Vice President of Business Development to lead growth in the waste management and environmental services sector. This role focuses on expanding municipal, commercial, and industrial business, developing strategic partnerships, and driving customer retention. You will lead a high-performing team and shape strategies that position the company as a market leader in waste, recycling, and sustainability solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies targeting municipalities, commercial, and industrial markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with municipal officials, regulatory agencies, and key industry partners.
  • Lead sales and business development teams to achieve revenue, margin, and market share goals.
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
  • Oversee high-level negotiations, contracts, and RFP/RFQ submissions.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, legal, and marketing to ensure smooth project execution.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in waste management, recycling, environmental services, or infrastructure industries.
  • Proven track record growing business with municipalities and enterprise clients.
  • Experience with M&A, public-sector procurement, and large-scale contracts preferred.
  • Strong strategic, financial, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
  • Willingness to travel regionally ~2 weeks per month.
