A leading senior living community in Connecticut is seeking an experienced nursing professional to serve as RN – Resident Service Director. This role oversees the delivery of nursing and resident care services, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and resident-centered care across assisted living and memory care services.


Position Overview

The RN – Resident Service Director is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising nursing and care services, including medication management, resident assessments, care planning, staff training, and regulatory compliance. This position ensures that all residents receive compassionate, safe, and effective care while fostering a supportive and skilled team environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing services, wellness counseling, and health promotion to residents
  • Oversee resident assessments, service plan development, and regular care plan reviews
  • Coordinate care with residents, families, and outside healthcare providers
  • Supervise and train Resident Care staff, ensuring competency and compliance
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with federal and state laws, including nursing commission standards
  • Manage staffing schedules, budgeting, and resource allocation for the Resident Care Department
  • Perform routine audits, quality assurance, and documentation review
  • Delegate nursing tasks appropriately to RN/LPN staff
  • Maintain infection control, immunization, and infectious disease protocols
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent resident care needs


Qualifications

  • Current, valid Connecticut RN license in good standing
  • Experience and passion for senior care
  • Knowledge of assisted living and memory care regulations
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, pushing up to 60 lbs)
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with residents, families, and staff
  • In good physical and emotional health, free of communicable diseases
