Production Supervisor

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead daily production activities and supervise employees on the manufacturing floor.
This position works closely with the Plant Manager to ensure production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, employees are properly trained, and the production area operates safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is an experienced manufacturing leader with strong organizational and problem-solving skills and a background in Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
- Supervise daily production activities and employees across assigned work cells or production lines.
- Set up and assign orders to the appropriate production areas.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure customer delivery dates are met.
- Monitor jobs in progress and perform quality checks as needed.
- Review and release work orders and ensure production documentation is complete and accurate.
- Determine staffing and labor requirements and make recommendations regarding personnel.
- Train and coach production employees and temporary workers on job duties, procedures, and safety.
- Work with the Quality team to improve processes and update production procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
- Ensure materials are handled, stored, and disposed of properly.
- Coordinate requests for labels, materials, and equipment as needed.
- Identify production issues and help develop practical solutions to improve efficiency and quality.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Promote safe work practices and hold employees accountable for following safety standards.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED required; college education preferred.
- 5+ years of manufacturing or production experience.
- 3+ years of experience supervising or managing employees.
- Lean Six Sigma training and hands-on continuous improvement experience.
- Strong knowledge of production processes and workflow.
- Experience using computers and Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to perform basic math and accurately count materials.
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Spanish/English bilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
- Pallet jack experience and forklift certification are preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds; additional weight may be handled with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, and work on a manufacturing floor for extended periods.
- Ability to safely operate or work around production equipment and material-handling equipment.
