Health, Safety & Facilities Specialist


A global aviation support and engineered solutions organization is seeking a Health, Safety & Facilities Specialist to support operational excellence initiatives at a large manufacturing and service facility environment. This position plays a critical role in driving workplace safety, regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, and facility-related improvement efforts.

The ideal candidate is a proactive safety professional with strong regulatory knowledge, hands-on facilities experience, and the ability to influence teams across operations, maintenance, and leadership functions.


Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Leadership

  • Lead site-level health, safety, and facility-related initiatives designed to strengthen workplace safety culture
  • Support employee engagement through training, coaching, communication, and continuous improvement activities
  • Serve as a key advisor to leadership on safety and compliance matters
  • Coordinate facility maintenance activities including contractor oversight, scheduling, and facility improvement projects


Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, fire safety, and facility-related regulations
  • Maintain safety documentation, permits, records, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Support external audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives
  • Lead workers’ compensation investigations, corrective action planning, and risk mitigation activities in partnership with HR and operations teams


Risk Management & Incident Prevention

  • Conduct facility inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-up
  • Support programs related to lockout/tagout, ergonomics, hazardous materials handling, and contractor safety


Emergency Preparedness

  • Maintain emergency response plans, evacuation procedures, and crisis response protocols
  • Coordinate emergency drills and support collaboration with emergency response agencies
  • Ensure safety systems and equipment are routinely inspected and operational


Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver and coordinate safety training for employees, contractors, and visitors
  • Track and analyze safety metrics to identify improvement opportunities
  • Participate in cross-functional safety committees and operational improvement initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in workplace safety, EHS, or facilities safety leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance, and building safety standards
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint


Preferred Experience

  • Professional safety or facilities certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or CFM
  • Experience with ISO 45001 or similar safety management systems
  • Background supporting manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or multi-site operations
  • Strong ability to influence teams through collaboration and sound judgment
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and follow-through
