Director of Business Development – Aerospace
Oxford, CT
Travel: 30%–35% (U.S.-based, primarily during first two years)
A well-established manufacturer supporting the aerospace and defense industries is seeking a Director of Business Development to drive strategic growth across key accounts and targeted markets. Recourse Communications is representing the company in the search for this high-impact role, newly created to support continued expansion.
This role works closely with the sales team and leadership to identify market opportunities, expand relationships with major accounts, and help shape the long-term commercial strategy. Candidates should have a strong background in the aerospace industry and a proven ability to lead business development efforts within highly technical, regulated environments.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and grow assigned key accounts
- Conduct market analysis and identify growth opportunities
- Collaborate with sales and divisional leaders on strategies and product roadmaps
- Lead business development initiatives and report on progress
- Support proposal development, contract negotiation, and customer engagement
- Represent the company at customer sites and industry events (moderate travel required)
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business-related field
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or sales management in the aerospace industry
- Bearings experience strongly preferred
- Strong strategic thinking, presentation, and customer relationship skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
