Senior Rates Analyst

Salary Range:$75,000–$80,000 per year
Schedule: Monday–Friday, Day Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Rates Analyst to support business growth and profitability through pricing strategy, data analysis, and reporting. In this role, you will collaborate closely with analysts and executive sales leadership to evaluate market trends, develop pricing recommendations, and support new and existing business opportunities.
The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, and the ability to interpret complex data and communicate meaningful business insights while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze market pricing, historical trends, cost structures, growth objectives, and profitability targets to develop effective pricing strategies.
- Prepare pricing proposals and bid submissions within tight customer deadlines.
- Develop and maintain complex Excel formulas, queries, and analytical reports.
- Research pricing discrepancies, investigate issues, and communicate findings.
- Track proposals through multiple rounds of pricing revisions and updates.
- Maintain accurate databases and records for new and revised contract rates, including spot and fixed-term pricing.
- Manage daily pricing activities, resolve exceptions, and troubleshoot pricing-related issues.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports for major accounts, identify trends, and summarize findings to support strategic business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university, preferably in a quantitative or analytical field.
- At least 5 years of analyst experience, with 6 or more years of overall professional experience preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting.
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Experience interpreting data, summarizing results, and presenting actionable insights.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a structured approach to documentation.
- Ability to remain composed and productive under pressure while managing changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including comfort working directly with executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with KPI reporting and performance metrics.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other data warehousing and business intelligence tools.
- A strong interest in numbers, pricing strategy, and business performance.
- A process-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
