Position Overview
Commercial Refrigeration Technicians are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and installing a wide variety of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems.
Systems and equipment may include:
- Parallel rack systems
- Walk-in coolers and freezers
- Ice machines
- Rooftop HVAC units
- Refrigeration controls and electrical systems
Additional responsibilities include:
- Leak detection and refrigerant recovery/charging
- Brazing, piping, and system repairs
- Troubleshooting electrical control circuits
- Working with LP and natural gas systems
- Diagnosing advanced refrigeration controls including Novar and Danfoss systems
- Participating in a rotating on-call schedule
- Occasional regional travel with overnight stays as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of commercial or supermarket refrigeration experience
- EPA Universal Certification required
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 80 pounds
