Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on, customer-facing technical professional to serve as a Readiness Manager embedded onsite at a customer engine MRO facility.
This role blends technical troubleshooting, tooling support, inventory management, and customer relationship ownership. You will act as the primary onsite liaison, ensuring tooling and equipment are maintained, functional, and ready for use while supporting daily MRO operations.
This position is ideal for someone with strong aviation tooling, maintenance, or field service experience who thrives in a hands-on, problem-solving environment and enjoys working directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the onsite point of contact for tooling readiness and equipment support
- Manage tooling inventories, including both company-owned and customer-owned assets
- Perform troubleshooting, inspection, evaluation, maintenance, and repair of tooling and equipment
- Disassemble, diagnose, and reassemble tooling systems as needed to restore functionality
- Coordinate logistics for tooling repairs, modifications, calibrations, and upgrades
- Review engineering drawings to identify design or manufacturing issues affecting performance
- Support supply chain coordination and monitor tooling lifecycle activities
- Support GE360 foam cart maintenance and regional service programs
- Assist with customer projects, equipment setup, and technician familiarization/training
- Ensure clear and consistent communication between customer teams and internal technical groups
- Provide onsite support for OEM tooling and aviation maintenance equipment
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to tooling performance and readiness
Technical Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for tooling and equipment used in engine MRO operations
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and hydro-mechanical troubleshooting
- Support calibration, repair, modification, and upgrade activities
- Interpret engineering drawings and aviation maintenance manuals
- Support regional technical and customer management teams with field execution
- Ensure tooling readiness aligns with operational schedules and customer requirements
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance, tooling support equipment, or aviation field service
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on repair and troubleshooting experience
- Experience with tooling design, manufacturing, or production environments preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working directly onsite in a customer-facing environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organization
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical priorities
Physical & Travel Requirements
- Ability to perform hands-on mechanical work for extended periods (up to 8 hours/day if required)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Frequent travel within assigned region required
- Occasional international travel to customer or company facilities
