Dispatch Planner / Logistics Capacity Planner
A national transportation and logistics company is seeking a Dispatch Planner to coordinate freight movement and ensure on-time pickup and delivery across its network. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving logistical challenges in a fast-paced operations environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor shipments and identify loads at risk of delay
- Coordinate relays, trailer swaps, and alternative solutions to maintain service levels
- Pair available trucks with open freight and confirm driver assignments
- Communicate with drivers and internal teams regarding load updates
- Track freight in transit and resolve operational issues
- Generate reports and maintain accurate shipment documentation
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of logistics, transportation, dispatch, or supply chain experience
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
