Estimator II (Earthworks & Environmental Construction Focus)
Location: Flexible | Travel Required
Type: Full-Time
Sector: Heavy Civil / Environmental / Geotechnical Construction
Why This Role Matters
Join a forward-thinking team delivering high-impact, sustainable infrastructure and environmental projects—ranging from levee and dam rehabilitation to wetland restoration and disaster-response efforts (odinenv.com). As an Estimator II, you’ll shape project strategy by producing precise cost estimates, with a central emphasis on earth‑moving, geotechnical, and on-site remediation components.
What You’ll Do
· Lead comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale projects, with a focus on earthworks, material logistics, site preparation, and geotechnical operations.
· Analyze plans and specifications—especially those involving mass grading, excavation, trenching, and soil stabilization.
· Develop construction plans to support accurate bidding, including material quantity take-offs and earthwork calculations.
· Collaborate with internal teams to validate costs, scheduling, and constructability (operations, project management, engineering).
· Present and reconcile estimates with capture teams and stakeholders.
· Conduct site visits and meetings as needed to validate scope and conditions.
· Stay current on trends in earthworks methodology, cost drivers, and regulatory requirements.
What We’re Looking For
· Bachelor’s degree (Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related) or equivalent experience.
· Strong background in estimating earthwork and geotechnical-heavy projects—especially in environmental restoration, infrastructure, or remediation contexts.
· Proficiency with estimating tools (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid), plus software like P6, CAD, AGTEK, and Microsoft Office.
· Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to thrive under tight deadlines.
· Excellent communication skills for interfacing across internal teams.
· Willingness to travel to project sites for scopes and validation.
· Field visits involve typical construction site conditions—PPE required (e.g., steel‑toed boots, hard hat). Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs; extended desk and computer use involved.
What Makes This Role Special
This is a position where your earthworks estimating expertise directly influences project outcomes—from preserving wetlands to building resilient infrastructure. You’ll join a team known for innovation, safety, and environmental stewardship—working on projects that truly make a difference in communities (odinenv.com).
